Best architectural marvel at Flinders City. Such an amazing exotic look for an engineering masterpiece close to the station. Easily accessible to all the travellers from different parts of the suburbs and the city. Easily accessible to all the wheelchair bound travellers in and around the city.
MoreNice place for family or couples to go.
Great cultural experience
Visited the square in first week of December. Was well decorated and decked up for Christmas. Its close to Flinder street station and on the banks of Yarra river. It was a weekend and with Christmas round the corner it was packed with families and kids.Lot of activities for kids were on and they were having a blast
MoreThis is a lovely location of Melbourne.
Peaceful and good vibes❣️I really enjoyed Moomba Festival 2020 in here.
Best community meeting point at heart of city, with lot of fun
Great place, they always have fun events, the christmas decorations are amazing every year
MoreBest place for waiting friends or get-together in Flinders street.
Great place to visit this time of year with the Aus Open on. Awesome place to set up camp and watch the tennis live on the big screen with hundreds of others. A Melbourne icon
MoreGood place to hang out, nice and wide and open, water fountains and toilets are convenient as well.
MoreDownright unpleasant on warm days, so bring a hat and sunnies if you must visit this public square that’s devoid of shade in summer!
MoreNo one can ever regret visiting this place. It's worth all the time you spend here. So much of art masterpieces at one place.
MoreOnly giving it this rating due to the cold, wet weather they hadn't prepared for, for an out-door's double feature movie night. And their lack of seating, knowing they were going to continue rain or shine; didn't help the matter.
MoreWow! Federation Square is in the very heart of the city opposite Flinders Street Station and on the Yarra River. The architecture is also very interesting. A visit is highly recommended.
MoreA place for public gathering. Beautiful architecture and city like environment. Next to train amd trams easily accessible.
MoreFederation square is place that looks like one with a lot of history around it. Just taking a walk along it makes one feel a mix of old architecture mixed with modern structures
MoreRight opposite iconic Flinders Street Station, good place to hangout specially during Australian Open
MoreFederation Square is an amazing open public space in the very heart of the city opposite Flinders Street Station and on the Yarra River. But it's more than just a city square! As well as the cafes, eateries and galleries, there's always something interesting on and you can also check ahead online with the events and festivals schedule. The architecture is also very interesting. We love going there whenever we're in Melbourne. A visit is highly recommended.
MoreIt's so rich with history, and I found a space by the water from where I could just sit and think.
MoreAn awesome place to go, Federation Square usually has a lot of activities planned for free. It's a spectacular place to relax and catch up with your friends.
MoreNight lights, City, Cold breeze air and the peace😌
Awesome City resting area. Yarra River walk just behind the back steps. Always a cool mixture of different people. The art gallery is very fascinating.
MoreThe square is across the road from Flinders Street Station's main entrance. After heading up a set of shallow stone stairs, you end up in the large plaza, which included a stage. I was there when it was empty and was able to look at the design on the floor. There were really interesting looking buildings lining the edge of the square, both in colour and shape. There are also a few dining areas around including Niska, the robot ice cream bar.I quite liked the games scattered around the square, as well as umbrellas and seating so you can just relax for a bit there. There is also a set of stairs that take you down towards the river side for a nice stroll.
MoreI was surprised how fashion this square is, the building is wonderful. Compared Sydney, I think Melbourne is much modern and activities. After world' hard time, when everything is open, recommend tourists come to see Melbourne.
MoreGood place to relax. Melbourne is cool!
The hot spot hub for all major events happening in Melbourne. The big screen on the main stage makes it a perfect spot to pay back and watch some awesome events happening, with a bunch of mates. Lots of food and beverages options nearby too. Right next to Flinders station, it's an ideal location for any occasion.
MoreAn horrendous, scrappy mess of blocks. A reflection of the governing socialist state.
MoreWhat a popular public space. Feels a bit like a sloping video viewing area. Truly popular venue to meet and spend time with family and friends. Highly recommended.
MoreNot a bad little outdoor areas with a few cool things to look at. The museum had nothing to show sadly as they were renovating. There is a nice pub there and we were lucky enough to be there on Star Wars day (May the 4th) and met up with a few friends who were in costume. Also the X-Wing was on display!!
MoreThe artistic design choice makes it formidable and astonishingly beautiful. It has definitely accomplished a grounded design, with no negative qualities. The abstract exterior makes it all-the-more admiring. I have not been so satisfied in my life to see a structure. I wish for Melbourne to proceed its artistic abilities.
MoreI enjoyed my trip to Melbourne being in Federation Square. The place is very clean and well managed. Historic Flinders Station opposite of the square is another key point as I got easy access to transportation. There was a Christmas event going on in the square and I really enjoyed that😊
MoreA great public space to hang out at, mostly they host various kind of festivals with cool activities and competitions, food stalls etc.
MoreAlways a great place to be at any time of the year. Plenty of free events, food festivals, movie screenings. Close to major tram and train stops. Some popular bars and restaurants around as well.
MoreAwesome place to visit go to when wandering around.
Most of the time, there's always something to see and do here. I always enjoy the Christmas Decorations :)
MoreGorgeous architecture, excellent location to meet up with friends or a tour group if visiting Melbourne
MoreA lovely place to visit for 30 seconds, taking in the unique architecture of the building surrounds, but then go on with your life. There's literally nothing to do here at all - sure, if someone was performing on the stage it would be good, but outside of that it;s just a big empty park with a museum that's closed for renovation (and sounds quite boring) and a cafe that's only open for about 2 hours every other day. Walk in, walk out, and do nothing more.
MoreEasy access from Flinders St train station and there is always something going on on the weekends. I like to sit there and just watch the world go
MoreLove this place! The museum, Restaurants, everything is amazing. If you ever get the chance, do the tour-explains everything about it. I remember that I watched AFL grand final on the big screen at fed sqaure. There is always something going on at fed sqaure. Overall-amazing & wonderful place to be there when one is in Melbourne.
MoreMost happening place in Melbourne.
Very interesting Square where some birds had made it their home. Here children can chase the birds and climb up the sculpture.
